Brainerd Lakes Curling Association Board of Directors Meeting

             June 17, 2008

               6:00 P.M.

Board Members present:  Jack Christofferson, Jill Anderson, Tom Jones, Mike Deiss, Mike Hoff,  Andy           , John Raboin, Caren Bedard

Board Meeting Minutes for May 27, 2008 approved as corrected and read.

Treasurer’s Report:  No treasurer present.  Jack took the $150 from Gary’s for deposit.

USCA dues were never paid and never serviced.  We are in MCA.  Balance is $9372.93 plus $150.  

Old Business

1. Rocks  Nothing is back from Hibbing yet.  No financial report.

2. Fair Booth   Caren is in charge of booth.   Fund Raiser/ raffle will be decided on at the July meeting.  John is doing our pipe and drape.  The banner is in John’s office.  We need a broom and Rock from Al.  We need a TV with VCR for tape.   If we do the raffle we are talking WE or XBOX . 1 ticket for $1, 15 for $10,  wing span for $20.     Brochures are under way.    We are Booth 314 and it will cost $300. We will have 3 hour shifts from 10 am to 10 pm.   Day time shift workers are needed.  

3. Membership fee decided on:    $150 per person for a full membership ($600 for team of four)  $50 for subs on a team.    After Jan 1,2009 there will be a late fee of $25 per person or $100  per team. 

4. Brat Sale August 29 and 30.  Mike Hoff in charge.    Shifts are from 10:30  - 2:00 and 2:00 to 5:30.

5.  Open house August 24 2008  1:00 to 4:00. Our cost will be about $800.  

New Business

Buhl Curling Club offered use of Buhl Curling Club for a Bonspiel.  We will discuss later when we have our own schedule firmed up.
